Atiku Frustrated PDP From Winning Lagos, Started Anti-Party as VP – Wike’s Aide, Olayinka

Olayinka disclosed that Atiku’s role in PDP’s failure then marked the beginning of anti-party activities in the party.

 
Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has made an accusation against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
 
He alleged that Atiku once frustrated the efforts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to win Lagos State in 2003.
 
 
Olayinka disclosed that Atiku’s role in PDP’s failure then marked the beginning of anti-party activities in the party.
 
Featuring on Channels Television, Olayinka insisted that Atiku is the first sitting Vice President to engage in anti-party activities.
 
Dismissing the gathering of the opposition coalition, he said: “Bringing people together in politics is like bringing apples, and Atiku is the bad apple.
 
“One of the problems we have in this country is that most of us are not students of history.

“In 2003, PDP’s effort to win Lagos State was frustrated by Atiku when he was Vice President, and that was how anti-party started in PDP.

“In 2018, when he went to Lagos, he personally apologized for the role he played in frustrating the efforts of the PDP to win Lagos State in 2003. If PDP had taken Lagos State then, look at the effect.

“In 2007, Atiku held the record as the first Nigerian sitting Vice President to go to another party while still holding the mandate of the PDP as Vice President.

“He went and formed Action Congress with other people, and he contested as their presidential candidate as a sitting Vice President holding the mandate of the PDP.”
