Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Zannah, a former chairman of Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has passed on after a protracted illness. DAILY POST reports that the sickness took the former State NLC boss to India in 2019 where he underwent medical treatment and returned to the country. He was also appointed the state commissioner for Social Welfare Development by former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari. Hon. Zannah later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party where in 2019, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle appointed him the Director-General of his campaign team. When Governor Matawalle assumed office as the State Governor, he again appointed Zannah the commissioner for Education, which he turned down for the reason best known to him. Before his death, he was eyeing the Senate to represent Zamfara Central zone in the National Assembly.
