They Want To Kill Me, They've Arrested My Brother - Dino Melaye Laments As Police Lay Siege On His Home

Embattled Senator Dino Melaye who was arrested in Abuja yesterday, has cried out that his brother has also been arrested as armed riot policemen laid siege on his Maitama, Abuja residence.

TONYGISTS reported on Monday that Senator Dino Melaye was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by Immigration officers, and they attempted to seize the passport of the senator who was on his way to Morocco.

While speaking to a correspondent, the lawmaker who is representing Kogi West at the Senate, revealed that he was later released, adding that some armed riot policemen laid siege to his home at Shanga Street, Maitama in Abuja in a bid to arrest him again.

"Over 30 heavily armed fierce looking mobile police men have just stormed My residence in Maitama, Abuja. All roads leading to House has been condoned off, as heavy mobile police men blocked entry & exit of the road. They currently laid siege on in and around The house," Dino posted on Twitter.

It was gathered that the security operatives blocked one end of the street with a Toyota Hiace bus with tinted glasses and Abuja number plate, RSH 193 TP, and a pick-up at the other end.

They also prevented persons in the building from going out, but later allowed family members, friends and guests to enter and exit the premises.

"My brother Moses and his friend have just been arrested by the police in front of my house.

"We are in a civil society. No warrant and case is in court yet this lawlessness. I’m a responsible NIGERIAN and law abiding. There is a plan to kill me and I know about it. We are not in a banana Republic. I can not be silenced. @BBCBreaking.

"All my policemen have been taken away with their arms. One CP came and took them away. There is also a plan to set me up again. But in God I trust. Truth will always prevail

"I will make myself available to the police today. My resolve to speak the truth and defend the poor masses of NIGERIA is Total. We shall overcome!!!

"A man without arm, no security yet you mobilise 150 policemen to invite him. And those who committed Treason are free. We shall not be intimidated or cowed. Struggle continue."
