You physical appearance says a lot of things about you as it shapes people's opinions on your kind of person.

How much can you really tell about someone by just looking at them?
 
When you look at yourself in the mirror what do you see?
 
Clearly, everyone’s answer to this will be different. And that is a good thing. We all come in different shapes, sizes, ethnicities, genders and that is what makes us unique.
 
However, if you have ever wondered what people think about you when they first meet you, now is you chance to get a little insight into their way of thinking.
 
Below are five things people can tell about you from your physical appearance alone.
 
1. If you are good looking, people will assume you have a good personality
 
Psychologists call this phenomenon the “halo effect”. This means we tend to think attractive people are also intelligent and committed.
 
We rate good looking people so high that a psychologist from the University of Texas found that good looking people are more likely to be paid more.
 
2. You can judge your leadership abilities based on your height
 
A 2013 study saw a group of participants look at portraits of 47 men and 83 women and evaluate them first on their height and then their ability to lead.
 
The researchers found the group took on board the person’s gender and height when judging their leadership abilities – rating taller people as better leaders.
 
3. How trustworthy your face is can literally mean life or death
 
In 2015, researchers published a study in which they showed 200 people photos of men on death row.
 
They asked the group to rate their trustworthiness based on their appearance alone.
 
Those who were rated as having a more untrustworthy face were more likely to be sentenced to death, researchers found.
 
However, the group surprisingly rated men who were later exonerated as less trustworthy than those who were eventually convicted.
 
4. Your facial structure can suggest how aggressive and how strong you are
 
A recent study found men with wider faces and larger cheekbones had higher levels of testosterone levels and were also more likely to be aggressive.
 
A separate study found people with broader faces tended to be stronger.
 
5. Your height can reveal the risk of some diseases
 
Studies have suggested that shorter people have lower rates of cancer and taller people have a lower risk of heart disease.
