Muhammadu Buhari. Garba Shehu has been attacked for his ridiculous
comment against former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

It was a bitter war on Twitter yesterday following a gaffe by the
Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to President Muhammadu
Buhari. Garba Shehu who misfired while trying to state that President Muhammadu Buhari was not dead as rumours stated.
After clearing the air on his first tweet about the news, which read "He
is alive and well! President Buhari is not magical. He cannot be
holidaying in the UK & be in Germany, dead or alive at the same
time."
Shehu stooped so low by firing an attack against the former
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians coming for his head.
"He is unlike a past President who was at Ota, w/ Chief Obj
& attending the Trump inauguration in D.C, being in two places at
the same time!" he stated in a tweet.
Many found the second statement childish, petty and unwarranted of a
government officials many believe should set the right standard for
others to follow. He was faulted on many instances.
"Sir, @GarShehu as a presidential staff, you didn't need to stoop this low, clarification already made in the 1st tweet." a
Twitter user admonished him. The attack on the former President many
believed was uncalled for as Jonathan had nothing to do with the news
that Buhari had died.
Some people considered it very stupid and unbecoming of a
presidential aide who is being paid by the taxpayers to degrade himself
with such tweets capable of inciting hate and disaffection among
Nigerians. Even after the goofing, Garba Shehu has found it unimportant
to issue an apology.
"@GarShehu GEJ never issued any statement saying that he is in the USA. Stop been petty." someone tweeted to him.
"This is what Buhari supporters like you should be saying not
the President's spokesperson. Very shameful! @woye1 @TobyMaribe1
@GarShehu" another user added.
