Traders Protest in Onitsha Over Taxation by Governor Obiano (Photos)

People's Democratic Party chieftain and Anambra State governor has incurred the wrath of the traders who want him out of office in barely one year.

Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has come under severe criticisms by residents of the commercial hub of the state, Onitsha.

Traders and residents staged a protest in the city of Onitsha against what they termed 'over taxation' by Obiano's administration.The protesters asked Gov. governor Obiano to step down or be impeached. They also accused him of "killing and milking them of their daily struggle".

Anambra State is one of the few states that are considered financially viable as it does not depend on 'bail-out' from the federal government to pay workers' salaries even at a time when not less than 26 out of the 36 states are struggling with multiple months of unpaid salaries.
